Let’s Ride with South Downs National Park

The ride will mark the opening of the Criterium and Cyclefest event, starting at 10:00am you will have the opportunity to cycle the 1km Criterium route for up to an hour before racing commences.

Cyclefest

The Cyclefest will take place in The Broadway as well as Abbey Gardens where you will have the opportunity to take part in a number of fun family activities with a chance to give cycling a go in various forms throughout the day.

Criterium

The Criterium is a 1km circuit race around the closed roads in Winchester City Centre. Riders will start at the top of the High Street, turn left onto St Thomas’ St, wind their way past the Cathedral, following the road next to the City Council Offices turning left from Colebrook Street for the long uphill drag to the start and finish line!

Riders must enter online in the appropriate category using the British Cycling website. The selection and acceptance will be inline with the published process which includes a first come first served policy.

Are you thinking of entering for the first time, then why not contact your local club for some top tips and join in for some training? You can also search for local circuit race events in your region to get some racing under your belt beforehand which will also increase your chances of gaining a place in the Winchester Criterium.
